One alert. Every swing, both directions.
Most alerts fire once and retire. A momentum alert re-arms itself: set the swing size that matters — 3%, 5%, 10% — and CoinBeacon notifies you each time the coin moves that far within your rolling window, up or down.
- Re-arms after every trigger. Fire, reset the baseline, keep watching. A coin that swings six times sends six alerts — a one-time alert stops at the first.
- Your size, your window. Define the swing as a percentage move over a rolling window — measured endpoint-to-endpoint, or from the window's high and low.
- Cooldowns stop the flood. A per-alert cooldown spaces out triggers, so one violent candle doesn't page you 40 times.
- Any coin, any channel. Works on 6,000+ coins across 50+ exchanges, delivered to email, Telegram, Discord, or your webhook.

Set it once, hear about every swing
How to set a crypto momentum alert that keeps firing.
- 01Pick one coin — or the whole marketChoose any of 6,000+ tracked coins, or skip the picking entirely and run the Momentum scan in the Alert Scanner as an any-coin alert that sweeps everything at once.
- 02Set the swing size and the windowDecide what counts as a move — say 5% — and the rolling time window it has to happen inside. Tighter windows catch violent moves; wider ones catch steady grinds.
- 03Choose where the ping landsTelegram, Discord, email, or a JSON webhook into your own tooling. One alert covers both directions — pumps and dumps trip the same trigger.
- 04Save it — it re-arms itselfAfter each trigger the alert resets and watches for the next swing, with a cooldown at least as long as your window so one move counts once. No re-creating, no manual reset.
What traders point them at
Volatile holdings, sudden-move radar, and every leg in between.
Babysit a volatile holding without babysitting it
A coin that swings 5% before lunch deserves a standing watch, not a pinned tab. One momentum alert reports every swing of your size all day — up and down — while a one-shot percentage alert would have gone quiet after the first move.
A market-wide sudden-move radar
Run the any-coin Momentum scan in the Alert Scanner and whichever of 6,000+ coins swings by your threshold names itself in the notification — the coins you weren't watching are usually the ones that move.
Every leg of a swing, not just the first
Swing traders who scale in and out want the second and third legs too. Because the alert re-arms after each fire, a chop day reads as a sequence of pings — and for the violent extremes, pump and dump alerts flag the market's sharpest spikes alongside it.
Swings filtered by the trend
A 5% dip in an uptrend and a 5% dip in a downtrend are different trades. When a momentum ping lands, a glance at the trend scanner tells you whether the swing runs with the tide or against it before you act.
Momentum alerts — common questions
- How are momentum alerts different from a percentage alert?
- A percentage alert fires once when a coin moves X% in your window. A momentum alert re-arms itself after every trigger, so on a coin swinging repeatedly you hear about each move — not just the first — with a cooldown so a single candle doesn't spam you.
- Were these called volatility alerts before?
- Yes. What we previously labelled 'volatility alerts' is now 'momentum alerts' — the same recurring, re-arming swing detection, renamed to describe what it does. Existing alerts keep working unchanged.
- Do momentum alerts catch both pumps and dumps?
- Both. One alert covers both directions: a 5% swing counts whether the coin ran up 5% or bled down 5% inside your window. You don't create separate up and down alerts — the same trigger watches each leg, whichever way it goes.
- Can a momentum alert watch the whole market at once?
- Yes. Instead of naming a coin, run the Momentum scan in the Alert Scanner as an any-coin alert: it sweeps all 6,000+ tracked coins and tells you whichever one just swung by your size. One alert becomes a market-wide sudden-move radar.
- How do momentum alerts avoid spamming me on a single move?
- Two mechanisms. The swing is measured over a rolling time window, so a move has to actually cover your percentage inside it — and the cooldown is at least as long as that window, so one move counts once. A coin swinging repeatedly gets you one message per swing, never a flood from one candle.
- Are crypto momentum alerts free?
- Yes. Momentum alerts are one of CoinBeacon's 19 alert types, and every type is on the free plan: 5 active alerts, 10 notifications a day, all four delivery channels. No credit card and no exchange API keys to connect.
- Where do momentum alerts get delivered?
- To any of CoinBeacon's four channels — Telegram, Discord, email, or a JSON webhook — typically within seconds of the swing. There are no SMS or phone-call notifications.
- Which coins and exchanges do momentum alerts cover?
- 6,000+ coins with price feeds from 50+ exchanges. Majors and microcaps alike — if CoinBeacon tracks the coin, you can put a recurring swing trigger on it, or fold it into an any-coin scan of the entire market.
