Highest funding
Longs are paying shorts on these perpetuals — the market is crowded on the long side and paying to stay there. Ranked on the normalized 8-hour rate across Binance USDⓈ-M perpetuals.

Most negative funding
Shorts are paying longs here. A deeply negative rate marks a crowded short side, and it is one of the conditions traders watch when they are looking for a squeeze.

Widest cross-venue spread
The same coin, two venues, opposite sides of the trade. Short where funding is most positive and long where it is most negative, and the price exposure cancels out while you collect the difference — the delta-neutral carry trade. This table shows where that gap is widest right now, compared on the same 8-hour basis. A coin has to be quoted on at least two of the 8 venues before it can appear here at all.

Stretched funding rarely arrives alone. The markets overview puts funding extremes on one screen with the day's movers, volume surges and what is being liquidated, which is usually the context that explains why a rate went where it did.
Inside the live scanner
This page publishes the extremes. The scanner behind it is the working version of the same feed — every venue, every perpetual, and the context around each rate. For the market-wide read, with funding bias sitting next to dominance, breadth and Fear & Greed, there is also the command center.
- Any one of the 8 venues
- The leaderboards here rank Binance USDⓈ-M. Switch the venue in the scanner and the whole board re-ranks on that exchange's own perpetuals — Binance, Bybit, Bitget, Gate.io, KuCoin, HTX, BingX, BitMEX.
- Native, per 8h or APR
- Three bases, one click apart. Native shows each venue's own per-interval quote, which is what you actually pay but is not comparable across venues. Per 8h and APR put every venue on the same footing.
- Which side is crowded
- A positioning strip tallies every perpetual on the venue into longs-paying and shorts-paying, names the most crowded of each, and sits beside the median funding APR across all venues over the last 24 hours.
- Every perp, not only the extremes
- The full table lists the whole venue: search by symbol or coin name, sort by rate, by how far from zero it sits, or alphabetically, 50 rows at a time.
- Open a row for the carry
- Any row expands into what the side that is not paying earns — per settlement, per day and annualized — plus the venue's settlement interval, the coin's 24h price change, and one click through to the cross-exchange price comparison, the Binance chart, or an alert on that symbol.
- Countdown to settlement
- Each row shows the time until that venue next settles. Funding is only paid or earned by positions held across a settlement, which is the difference between an interesting rate and one you can act on.
None of that needs an account. Signing in adds the 7-day funding history chart and the per-row 7-day sparkline, and lets you narrow the whole board to one watchlist.
Watching a rate is the easy part. Being told is the point.
Funding flips while you are asleep. CoinBeacon watches all 8 venues and sends you an email, Telegram, Discord or webhook the moment a rate crosses your level, flips sign, moves 2× to 5× inside a window you set, or a cross-venue spread opens past the APR you name — the alert modes are broken down here.

How to read this board
- 01
Positive — longs pay shorts
The perpetual is trading above spot and the long side is crowded. Holding a long costs you the rate every settlement; holding a short pays you.
- 02
Negative — shorts pay longs
The perpetual is below spot and the short side is crowded. Now the payment runs the other way, and a squeeze becomes more likely if price turns.
- 03
The interval trap
0.01% every 8 hours is about 10.95% a year. The same 0.01% every hour is about 87.6%. Most boards rank on the raw number and quietly mix the two. We normalize every venue to a common 8-hour basis first, using each exchange's own reported settlement interval — never an assumed 8 hours.
Questions
- What is a crypto funding rate?
- A funding rate is a recurring payment between traders holding perpetual futures. When the rate is positive, longs pay shorts; when it is negative, shorts pay longs. It exists to tether the perpetual's price to spot. A persistently positive rate means the market is crowded long and paying for the privilege.
- Why normalize rates to an 8-hour basis?
- Exchanges settle funding on different clocks — every 8 hours, every 4, sometimes every hour. Comparing the raw numbers is misleading: 0.01% every 8 hours is about 10.95% a year, but the same 0.01% every hour is about 87.6%. This board converts every venue to a common 8-hour basis using each exchange's own reported interval before ranking, so the comparison is honest.
- Which exchanges are covered?
- Funding is tracked on 8 futures venues: Binance, Bybit, Bitget, Gate.io, KuCoin, HTX, BingX, BitMEX. The two leaderboards on this page rank Binance USDⓈ-M perpetuals, which have the deepest book; the cross-venue spread table compares all 8. In the live scanner you can point the board at any single one of the 8 and re-rank on that venue's own perpetuals, still without an account.
- What does a negative funding rate mean?
- Shorts are paying longs to keep their positions open, which usually marks a crowded short side or a market trading below spot. Deeply negative funding often accompanies capitulation, and it is one of the conditions traders watch for a squeeze.
- How can I tell which side the market is crowded on?
- Two readings, both free to look at in the scanner. A positioning strip counts every perpetual on the venue you are viewing into longs-paying and shorts-paying — anything inside 0.02% per 8 hours counts as neither side crowded — and names the single most crowded long and short. Beside it sits the market funding index: the median funding APR across every venue over the last 24 hours, which answers the same question for the market as a whole rather than one book.
- Is the APR figure a return I can earn?
- No. The APR column annualizes the rate showing at this moment, and funding resets every 1 to 8 hours. A four-digit APR is a sign of a temporary imbalance, not an achievable yield. The figures are also gross — trading fees, slippage and margin costs are not deducted.
- How is funding-rate arbitrage supposed to work?
- The classic delta-neutral trade is to short the perpetual on the venue paying the most positive funding while going long on the venue with the most negative, so the price exposure cancels and you collect the spread. The spread table shows where that gap is widest right now. A coin needs at least two venues quoting it before a spread exists at all, and in the scanner a row expands into every venue's rate side by side with the long and short legs marked. Anything past 500% APR is flagged volatile rather than treated as an opportunity. Execution risk, fees and margin requirements decide whether it is actually profitable.
- How often does this board update?
- Funding data is ingested from every venue once a minute, and this page serves a snapshot that is at most about a minute old. The timestamp above the tables shows the age of the data itself, not when the page was rendered. The in-app scanner re-reads the same feed every 30 seconds.
