Percentage alerts — common questions
- What is a crypto percentage alert?
- An alert that fires when a coin moves by a set percentage within a set time window — for example, BTC up 5% in 15 minutes. CoinBeacon evaluates the condition continuously across 6,000+ coins on 50+ exchanges and delivers to email, Telegram, Discord, or a webhook, typically within seconds.
- What is the difference between endpoint and extremes measurement?
- Endpoint measures net change: the current price versus the price at the start of the window, so a spike that round-trips reads near zero. Extremes measures the full swing: the current price versus the window's lowest price for up alerts (or highest for down alerts) — more sensitive to fast moves.
- Will a volatile coin flood me with notifications?
- No. Every alert has a per-alert cooldown after it triggers, and rolling-window alerts wait at least the length of the window, so one move fires once. You can also set any alert to disable itself after its first trigger.
