Volume is what separates a real breakout from a fakeout.
CoinBeacon reads the tape for you — relative volume versus normal, spikes, volume-confirmed level breaks, blow-off exhaustion climaxes and dry-ups — plus the aggressive buy/sell split and, on perps, the open-interest trend. Computed on Binance spot and futures, over closed candles.

Five volume states, one per coin.
A scan sorts every coin into the volume state that matters right now — so you're not eyeballing bars on a hundred charts. Each coin shows at most one state, and only coins with a genuine volume event make the list.
- Relative volume (RVOL). The latest bar measured against a rolling baseline — 3× means three times normal, not just 'a big green bar'.
- Volume-confirmed breaks. Price closing through a key level on a volume spike — the filter that tells a real break from a fakeout.
- Exhaustion climaxes. A high-volume bar with a large opposing wick after a run — a blow-off top or bottom running out of buyers.
- Dry-ups & squeezes. Fading volume on a falling MA — coiling compression that often precedes the next expansion.

Not just how much — who's buying.
Two moves can print the same volume and mean opposite things. CoinBeacon splits each bar into the aggressive buy versus sell (taker) flow, and on perpetuals joins the open-interest trend, so you can tell demand from a squeeze.
- Taker buy / sell split. The share of volume from aggressors lifting the offer versus hitting the bid — labelled buy, sell, or mixed.
- Open-interest trend. On perps: rising OI means new positions and conviction; falling OI means positions closing into the move.
- Volume trend & streak. The slope of the volume MA and how many bars in a row volume has risen — is the fuel building or fading?
- 24h quote volume. Liquidity context per coin, so a spike on a thin pair reads differently from one on a deep market.

- 01Rising Volume— Relative volume above normal with a rising volume MA or back-to-back higher bars — participation building.
- 02Volume Spike— A single bar well above the baseline — a burst of activity worth a second look.
- 03Confirmed Break— Price closes through a key level on a volume spike — the move that separates a break from a fakeout.
- 04Exhaustion— A high-volume climax with a large opposing wick after a run — a blow-off top or bottom losing steam.
- 05Dry-Up / Squeeze— Volume fading with a falling MA — coiling and compressing before the next expansion.
Volume analysis — common questions
- What does the volume analysis scanner actually measure?
- It reads relative volume (RVOL) — the latest bar against a rolling baseline — then classifies each coin into one state: rising volume, a spike, a volume-confirmed level break, a high-volume exhaustion climax, or a dry-up. It also shows the taker buy/sell split, 24h quote volume, and open-interest trend on perpetuals.
- Which market and exchange does the volume data come from?
- Volume states are computed from Binance market data — both spot pairs and USDT-M futures — over closed candles, so a signal never repaints mid-bar. Open interest is joined for the futures (perp) coins at read time.
- Is the volume analysis scanner free to use?
- Yes. The free plan includes every CoinBeacon feature: the volume scanner, all its states and filters, plus up to 10 active alerts with 10 notifications per day. Sign in with Google to start.
